How to setup Liner rewinder UN-208
Description:
Liner rewinder is attend to rewinding of label liner that comes out from stripper module for thermal transfer printers EZ-1000, EZPi-1000,
G500 a RT7X0 during print and stripp. Almost all parts of liner rewinder are metalic that ensure long lifetime and - thanks the weight - very good
stability on workplace as well.
Installation:
Place printer on the top of liner rewinder. The pin on top of liner rewinder must go down in the cut-out on the bottom of the printer.
Liner rewinder is powered with printer power supply that connect to the rear panel of liner rewinder. Than connect power cable with jack
that comes from the rear panel of liner rewinder to power slot on rear panel of the printer. Power supply can be permanently connected to
the wall socket. Only in case that liner rewinder will not be use for long time, it is recomended to unplug it from wall socket.
Now, when power switch on front panel of liner rewinder is switched on, rewinder shaft starts to rotate. Printer can be switch
on with standard way according to instruction in user manual of particular printer model. Rewinder shaft is driven via clutch. Torque
of this clutch is possible adjust with nut on the front end of this shaft. Adjusting is necessary to make when liner rewinder is switched off.
It is necessary to install catch metal plate for RT7X0(i) printers or catch metal clips for G500. These parts ensure door of stripper
against opening. Trend to open stripper dor is caised with force that rewinder shaft tighten liner. Catch metal plate is mount in right hole
on top cover of RT printer using rubber anchor. See enclosed picture. Catch metal plate must be firmly pressed to top cover of printing
mechanism during and after tightening screw of the anchor otherwise this metal plate blocks correct closing of the printer mechanism.
Catch metal clips is used for G500. These clips are slide on tear – off plate that is on top cover of the printer. All is clearly visible on
enclosed pictures.
Using of liner rewinder:
Remove labels from liner in appropriate lenght to reach rewinder shaft and load it in stripper and than continue to rewinder shaft.
Fix end of liner under rewinder shaft clip and rotate by hand with rewinder shaft to fasten liner on the shaft. Close printer head and check
that the catch metal plate ensure stripper against opening. Switch on rewinder. Rewinder shaft tighten liner. Now it is possible to start
printing and stripping of labels. Label liner is rewind on rewinder shaft during printing.
When media is not stable and goes to the left and/or to the right, there is too high torque adjust on rewinder shaft. It is necessary
to loose adjusting nut. The smaller width of the media is, the smaller torque is necessary to adjust. Contralily – wide media accept high torque.
Maintanance:
Liner rewinder is maintanance free device. When it is necessary to clean it, use cloth wet in alcohol.
