How to clean GoDEX printers - Printhead Maintenance Guide
Failure possibilities:
- Corrosion - mostly happen if customer is using cleaning material based on watter. Or when humidity in warehouse
interfier with material which is printing and rolls of textile, labels are not in foil protected.
Solution: Protect each roll of label with foil from humidity. Use Godex cleaning pens or 99% isopropyl Alcohol with soft cloth.
- Abrasion - mostly come when customer is using direct thermal printeing (not using ribbon).
Customer need to calculate where to invest - in new printhead or in ribbon.
- Mehanicly damaged- customer need to educate oprator on printer not to use screw drivers, scalpels .. if some label stuck inside printer.
- Overpowered (using too much temperature):
Solution: Depending of material customer can use wax, wax/resin or resin ribbon.
Making good combination between speed, temperature and mechanicly good aligned printhead (between print linie and platen roller) customer will get best results and he will optimise lifetime of printhead.
For example- when customer is changing print head good praxis is also to change print roller.
From examples of good praxis we have share next info (this also depend of printer speed, printhead tension and state of printer):
With wax ribbon customer sholud get good results with temperature up to 9.
With wax-resin ribbon customer sholud get good results with temperature up to 12.
With resin ribbon customer sholud get good results with temperature up to 15.
Cleaning printhead interval: for industrial printers after each 450meters ribbon, for desktop printers - after each two full rolls of labels (rolls of label are cca. 74 meters).
