AG4000 Output signals

AG4000 Print and Apply system provides 4 different output signals that can be used for integrating the machine in the production line and/or adapting it with other systems.

On the side of the AG4000 there are 2 connectors - DB9 and DB15. Each of these signal drive a separate relay, so you can either use internal voltage from AG4000/printer, or connect it to an external voltage, as well as use either NO or NC.

Pinout:

  • Error signal (ERROR 1) - this signal is activated when there is any kind of error either in the printer, or in the applicator. Signal can be used to stop the line and provide alarm to the operator that service is required.

In the video below you will find example of the Error signal:

Please note that if the AG4000 is set OFFLINE, there will be no Error signal, but Ready signal will be inactive.

  • Data Ready (DTR) Signal - this signal  is activated when printer has a printjob in it's buffer that is ready to be printed and waiting for trigger signal (e.g. a label sent from PC to be printed, or a label recalled from printers memory in Standalone). If more than one label is sent to be printed, e.g. 3 labels, DTR signal will stay active until last label is printed.

  • Ready Signal -  this signal is activated when printer has a printjob to be printed in its buffer (DTR is active), AG4000 is ONLINE and not in the cycle. In short - the system is ready to apply the label.

  • Home Signal - this signal is activated when the piston moves out of it's resting position - signal is active when piston is traveling down and up.

If your application requires some special inputs/outputs, it is also possible to use additional signals from ZX1000i/GX4000i GPIO, please refer to the attached PDF for more information or contact your Godex representative.
